Providing reliable and cost effective transportation services to and from school and
school-related activities is a highly complex undertaking. An effective transportation management system must provide bus routing functionality for
regular education students, track the unique needs and delivery of services for each special
education student, and support requesting and scheduling of buses for field trips, charters,
and athletics. These systems also include components that allow community members to
check the distance from a home address to the assigned schools or the closest bus stop via
the web and enable parents to look up their children’s transportation information over a
secure internet connection.
Davidson Services consultants are familiar with the complexities of setting up and operating a transportation system including establishing and maintaining accurate map data; importing student data and keeping it current
as student move, enroll, or withdraw; tracking driver information such as licenses and certifications, accidents;
and absences; and adjusting routes based on constantly changing parameters (including weather). We work closely with our customers to identify their specific needs based on how transportation services are
delivered and assist in finding and implementing the system that most closely meets those unique needs.
