Time Clock Systems
Since personnel costs comprise up to 90% of a school district's budget, Davidson
Services has assisted many districts with implementing time clock solutions.
Districts typically implement electronic time clocks to track hours worked by non-certified
personnel as well as control access to buildings. These systems help ensure consistency in
how employees are paid, and also provide safeguards against paying employees who are on
leave or terminated.
While implementation of a time clock system is a relatively simple task, installation
preparation can be extremely difficult and time consuming. Davidson Services personnel have
designed a unique process to make time clock implementation more manageable.
Through careful pre-installation planning, we identify the range of work rules currently being

used for hourly personnel within the district. Where possible, we will recommend consolidation, simplification, and a
common process for all personnel across the district, including easy-to-use documentation and customized training.
Once time worked information is collected through the time clock system, it should transfer easily into the district's
payroll system, to avoid the need for duplicate data entry.
Our consultants have worked with the most popular payroll systems installed in districts today and with vendors to
ensure integration between the time clock system and the payroll application. This maximizes the district's return on
the time clock system investment by improving tracking and management of hourly time worked and reducing payroll
data entry time.
